In order to optimize purification processes in drinking water production retention basins in Andijk AM-TEAM has performed Computation Fluid Dynamics (CFD) modeling for their client PWN. To be able to validate the modeling results Aqua Vision has been asked to perform current measurements at distinct measurement locations.

The radiographic navigable Q-boat, equipped with a RiverPro ADCP, is ideal for these measurements due to difficult to reach locations and the low disturbance and polluting level of the platform. Vertical velocity profiles were obtained at significant fixed (model) locations, and in addition continuous current profiles along the sailed tracks between the fixed locations were produced.
