Obtaining ADCP current data for optimizing location ‘Bubble Barrier’ to capture plastic from water
The Great Bubble Barrier (TGBB) has developed a system to capture plastic particles from a water flow by means of a “bubble barrier”. In cooperation with Waternet, a test site of the system at the Westerdok in Amsterdam is being set up. To optimize the location for the Bubble Barrier Aqua Vision has performed current measurements with two H-ADCP’s (ChannelMasters) from Teledyne RD Instruments for a period of a month. With our ViSea-H Data Acquisition Software (DAS) the gathered data was extrapolated with a hydrodynamic model to obtain vertical current profiles of the water column.
