Aqua Vision performs sludge thickness measurements with Autonomous Survey Vessel (ASV)

Aqua Vision carried out depth measurements of a 600 x 300 meter freshwater basin in less than 5 hours by using an Autonomous Survey Vessel (ASV).

The ASV was programmed to sail in tracks spaced equally by 20 meters, and was equipped with an onboard computer running data acquisition software, an SBG combined motion and heading sensor, long-range Wi-Fi and an inhouse-developed autonomous pilot.

Depending on the desired information (bathymetry, sludge thickness and/or water velocity and direction), the ASV can be equipped with a (dual-frequency) singlebeam or multibeam echosounder as well as an ADCP.
